Mark your calendars! Sunday, November 20, from 4pm-6pm, will be our next Messy Church. Messy Church is a different way for families to worship God together. For a short video introduction to Messy Church and all the ways it can benefit your family’s needs, please click here. If you plan to attend Messy Church, please let us know by contacting our office. We look forward to seeing you at this fun way to worship!
Part of being a servant of Christ is all the incredible relationships you make with fellow servants along the way. There are many opportunities to serve Christ and build relationships at First United Church of Christ, but one in particular that is soon approaching is decorating the church for the season of Advent (Christmas). This is a special time in the church and means many things for different people, but seeing the church fully decorated is always sure to bring a smile and joy to anyone that steps foot in the church. Won’t you consider helping decorate? We are especially in need of people that are able to lift heavy boxes. Please let a member of Church Life know if you are able to help. Or you can always call Tammy in the office and have her relay the message to them.
Our Holiday Outreach projects are quickly approaching, and we would love to have your help to make them successful yet again. Our Thanksgiving Basket project will begin on Saturday, October 28 and will end on Sunday, November 13. As in the past, we will be collecting boxed and non-perishable food items. For more information about these projects, please see the October Messenger (and the November Messenger, which will be posted in early November).
From the Pastor
As the pastor of First United Church of Christ, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our church website (with the help of Tomatillo Design)! We have worked very hard to make this website as user-friendly and informative as possible.
We, as a family of faith, come from many different faith backgrounds and experiences…and here, in all our diversity, we come together in community, bound together in the common mission of inviting all people to faith, relationship, and service through Jesus Christ.
As you explore our site, you will see the various ways in which we are growing together in faith, relationships, and service. You will find us gathering in worship, enjoying times of fellowship and fun, and serving our community and our world as we participate in the various ministries of our church.
Come join us… come and find a place where you can make a difference in the world!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Lauren Allen
