Role of the Deaconesses
At First United Church of Christ in Troy, the Deaconesses serve as a compassionate, dedicated ministry team supporting the spiritual and practical needs of the congregation. They help prepare and assist with the celebration of Holy Communion, provide care and comfort to members during times of illness or loss, and extend hospitality during worship and special services. Guided by a spirit of service, the Deaconesses strive to embody Christ’s love through presence, prayer, and support for the church family.
